The upcoming Kona Running Company Fall Events!

Alan Whitehead founded the Kona Run race event in 2003 in Northville.  Since then, created the Wicked Halloween Run in 2011, Kona Shamrock Run in 2012, Kona Chocolate Run in 2013 all held in Plymouth, the Novi Half Marathon w/Nas Dastmalchi in 2014. Kona Strawberry Run in 2015 & Kona Cheesecake Run in 2016. Alan derived the name Kona Running Co. from his frequent visits to Hawaii & drinking Kona Coffee.  Alan was on the Race Staff at the Detroit Free Press Marathon in 1999-2001 & Race Director of the Parade Company's annual Detroit Turkey Trot in 2014-15.  The Kona Running Company donates to local charitable organizations like the Karmanos Cancer Institute, University of Michigan CS Mott Children's Hospital, Northville Educational Foundation & the Farmington Y.  Alan also owns the two Road Runner Sports stores in Canton & West Bloomfield & part ownership in Hughesware Registration Services.
